Korean Fable
This is a 7.5+ movie. Don't believe the 6.9 one. One of the funniest movies ever.
South Korean cinema is on a whole another level these days, and I'm not just comparing Hollywood to it. This movie is one of funniest ever made and it joins other hilarious Korean comedies like Extreme Job, Midnight Runners and Confidential Assignment in keeping you entertained until the last minute. So many hilarious laugh out loud moments. The chemistry among the cast is so evident in every scene and they're having fun, just like we the audience are having fun watching them. The 6.9 rating here isn't bad, but this is arguably a movie that should be in the 7.5+ rating range. Go Kyung-Pyo has been killing it lately and is amazing. Wonder why he was shut out during the Korean movie award season. Park Se-Wan is as hilarious as she is gorgeous. This is the first movie I've seen with Lee Yi-Kyung is a main lead role and he's fantastic too. The rest of the cast is fantastic too - Eum Moon-Suk, Kwak Dong-Yen, Lee Soon-Won and Lee Joon-Hyuk play well off each other and each one gets a scene to showcase their comedic talent. Amazing movie and a must watch for broad comedy fans, and fans of Korean cinema.
Funny version of JSA with some CLOY humor
Hilarious and well written comedy should be seen by audiences all across over the world. There was an old movie about N&S soldiers meeting up and bonding called Joint Security Area. But that was tragic. This comedy is a funny movie from start to finish. Not just about the lottery ticket but what happens in N and in the S when they switch. A bit of Crash Landing humor contrasting the 2 countries and their values and speech. Don't have to be Korean to appreciate most of the jokes though. Good performances from GKP and LYK. Could have been even longer. Premise was so good. Beautifully filmed too.
