Plot summary

An unwatchable movie, a terrible adaptation

The book is amazing-well-paced, immersive, and a surprisingly quick read that delivers a powerful experience. Choosing to skip it in favor of the movie is a mistake. The film not only fails to capture the depth and nuance of the source material but actively undermines it with bizarre pacing decisions and unnecessary deviations.While adaptations often take creative liberties, here the changes serve no clear purpose and lead to no meaningful payoff. It feels disjointed and hollow, lacking the emotional and thematic weight that made the book compelling. Frankly, the movie doesn't just pale in comparison-it feels like a complete misfire.Not only does it fail to do justice to the original, but it also fails as a standalone work. A true waste of time.
