A crazy ride.

Was the opening scene with the caveman and woman the first recorded use of a nose flute? Bucky is an aspiring film maker, and with his mute friend Vish, wants to make movies of substance, to cement a legacy of a film maker that will be remembered for 500 years. All real artistic masterpieces. But he knows very little about making a good movie and lives in a small town. As he is filming a submission to a local film festival, a meteorite lands by the house. His father picks it up, and is turned into a zombie. Suddenly, his idea of a film changes, as he has a perfect actor to use for a zombie film. He advertises for actors, and Vivien shows up. A chain smoker, she starts to boss Bucky around since she knows more about movies than he does. She thinks Walter, Bucky's father, simply is in character. And we find later she has really talented toes. June, who wants to be in movies, but has severe stage fright, also shows up hoping to be in a movie. She becomes an assistant, telling Bucky a zombie film has to have a lot of blood. But Bucky can't take gore, and vomits a lot. So for a different local film festival he plans a zombie movie, as that one requires a horror movie submitted. If this description seems strange and perhaps a little silly, by the half way point the movie really gets silly and manic. So consider this a zombie comedy and quite unlike anything else out there. Super 8 (2011) is about amateur film makers who stumble upon a deep secret. This movie is about a film maker of a far different, and lower skill set and stumbles and bumbles around to give an enjoyable movie. And by the end of the movie, one will find how the pink flamingos fit into the film. Except for a certain four letter word used, it might qualify for a PG-13 rating.

Fantastically Quirky

I was not sure what to expect from this movie. Was it a slasher flick, or a suspense thriller, or a guts and gore Comedy or Drama?Well I got it all!!!Along the lines of John Waters with Zombies, guts, gore, laughter, tears, suspense, surprises, and barf.Logan Riley Bruner portrays the aspiring young film maker with earnest perfection. His desire to create a new genre of Horror film forces him to overcome his own affliction to the humor and delight of we the audience.Emma Chasse as the calm rational and stalwart problem solver in the midst of chaos and Gore is fantastic.Mena Suvari is hilarious as the Diva who's above doing bit parts but also whose ego won't let her walk away and all that results from that choice.Tom O'Keefe as the Dad brings a new take on what is to be a Zombie with heart filled with love and pride for his son!Eddie Griffin, Ronald Guttman, the entire cast make this movie an absolute pleasure to watch over and over again.

The most fun I've had with a zombie movie

As unbiased as I can be, All You Need is Blood is an all out blast of zombie-infused comedy with a love for filmmaking at its core. From its incredible use of practical effects to its movie-making main character, Bucky (my BFF Logan Riley Bruner, who's awesome in his first leading role), there is so much to love about this movie. It's one of those movies that's a bit smarter than you initially think, setting up things right under your nose just to bring them back around in its insane third act. The tone is set perfectly by its "30,000 years ago" intro and it keeps that self-aware, humorous tone for its snappy 100 minute-ish runtime, barely slowing down except for one hell-related monologue in the middle.Emma Chasse has a strong debut, Mena Suvari is deliciously over the top, Neel Sethi brings the heart and deserves more screen time, Tom O'Keefe is the ultimate "zombie method actor", and Emily Casey is darkly wonderful as Bucky's cremated mom.Even for people who don't like zombie movies, there's a lot of fun to be had in this Zom-Dram-Comedy, with enough blood to make even Kill Bill jealous.
