The movie starts off very slow and you expect it to pick up but it never does. Had great potential however my Wife fell asleep as I kept watching hoping it would get better and it never does. Was a waste of time unfortunately. There were no graphic scenes, the whole time you're waiting for it to get good but it just doesn't. There's a couple questions left unsaid that will never be answered. The only thing that could possibly be good about the movie was that it was free however still a waste of a movie before going to bed. If you want something to fall asleep to and not be bothered to miss..this is your movie.

Very slow moving movie
I did watch the movie...
... but still don't think it's very good.
This is a film which is so clearly inspired by/a pastiche of American Beauty it's painful. Cod-philosophical musings on Vonnegut, Kafka, Soviet Sci-Fi and of course Death. A protagonist who films mundane things on VHS video tapes and calls it art. We don't need to see this kind of thing again.
I was attracted to this because the trailer made it look like a film where there would be some kind of mystery revolving arund the videos that are being made or at least the videos would be a major plot point or revelatory about the central relationship.
No.
What we have instead is a typical story of naive girl falling for bad boy with disasterous consequences. The VHS tapes that the protagonist films are barely part of the plot. Mostly an incredibly lazy excuse to have some "Deep" voice overs.
It's also worth pointing out that this film has a couple of issues that are common to low-budget film-making:
a) Some of the acting is incredibly stilted and awkward
b) The sound mixing is terrible. Many times through the course of the film dialogue is drowned ut by the sound design and/or score.
I didn't even watch it but I'm rating it because -
I didn't watch this movie. I fully intended to but as soon as I watched the trailer that idea left my mind at once. Why? Because yet again, someone makes a movie starring someone in the role of a teenager who in no way looks like a teenager anymore. Hart Denton was apparently either 27 or 28 years old when the movie was filmed. Come on now, does he really think he looks like a high school student no more than 18 or 19? He does not. His girlfriend in the movie looks too old also but cleverly hides her year of birth from her bio.
I've seen quite a few movies lately where the main characters are in high school, or starting college, and they are played by age appropriate actors.
The trailer was all I needed to see. Don't tell me there are no 17 year olds who can play a role properly, there are plenty of them.
If you want to watch someone almost 30 years old pretending to be a high school student, go for it.
