Plot summary

On March 13, 2022, filmmaker Brent Renaud was killed by Russian soldiers, the first American journalist to die while reporting on the war in Ukraine. His younger brother and collaborator, Craig Renaud, recovered Brent’s body and his final recordings from Ukraine and brought them back to their childhood home in Arkansas. As Brent’s journey to his final resting place unfolds, the film chronicles the years he and his brother spent covering some of the world’s most dangerous conflicts.

A magnificent and tragic film

A courageous examination of the life of a courageous man who journeyed to the worse conflicts in the world to give wars victims a voice. A true hero, this film honors not only Brent but all the journalists that risk their lives to bring us the truth.I will never understand how the filmmaker Craig Renaud found the courage and the will to put this story of his own brother together. This film is deserving of all the wars and all the attention.A must watch.

Too short to a great commitment

What an incredible material Brent recording. Several things to reflexion, but one of these is that wars just left suffering, people hurt and nobody in the people wins. Maybe just win those guys who finance wars and weapons, who are a lot and powerful it seems.I would have liked to see more of his work, I think it deserves at least a feature film.

Deserving of every Award and every Attention

This is an absolute must see; put down whatever you are doing and watch this. But also be ready for a heavy heart (viewer discretion certainly advised). It is both an intimate portrait of a man who gave his life to better this world one story at a time and a heart wrenching dose of reality about the hardship and horrors many people throughout the world face. You can tell that the filmakers (brother and friend of the subject- Brent Renaud) have poured their heart and soul into this work. Hopefully, this work will insipre more bold, humble, and authentic journalism to tell the stories of those who's voices are often unheard.
