There is only one positive thing about this film. The cinematography, but only a quarter of it. They reallly get you in the first act with this Resident Evil 4 aesthetic. After that, it's like they only had budget for a n00b of a camera operator.

However, the more we get into the story, if that's what you want to call it, the more comically ridiculous it gets.

For example, the whistling. That's really the next best way to communicate? There have been movies that I'm use sign language but it feels unnecessary to the narrative. But in this film, it is the perfect time to use some sign, and yet we are stuck with these idiots whistling at each other like some choo choo trains.

Ok from the get go I love Sam think she's one of the best modern day final girls.

The movies gore and kill scenes are pretty impressive, you sometimes get the same sense, feeling and terror of The Decent but it quickly fades out and doesn't really match up to the same sort of terror inducing fear, but the potential was there.

This dark dystopian film doesn't give much away, I mean nothing at all ,almost. The fact that the cult Azrael (Sam) has been deemed worthy ??? Or selected for sacrifice??? By the high priestesses of the cult which worships a hole that whistles in the back of an old church. The priestesses is pregnant, by who ? What ? When ? And why ?

The cult have removed there vocal cords ? So they remain silent?

At one point we see a painting in the church with 3 figures Speak, Hear and See no evil.

We also see the painting of a face which I assume is Azrael's.

Demons/mutants roam the forest where the cult live, smelling and seeking out blood to survive? Quench their blood lust ? Hard to tell.

There's a dying women in a tent ? Can only assume she's one of the main cult leaders mother who's on her last legs or is she turning into a demon ?

Any way the film ends in a blaze of glory for Azrael, the cult are mostly dead by this point the mutants/demons are all gathering, now that the priestesses has given birth, given birth to the Anti-Christ/ Devil in carnet ( a goat baby) .

The priestess kills her self at the sight of her new born and Azrael lifts the baby in the final scene and as she does we're presented with a St. Azrael like image with church window making it look like a halo surrounding her head as she holds goat baby, as she's surrounded by the demons/mutants howling in glory to their new born king.

All 'n' all a decent movie, could have been a wee bit longer and given us more of a back story. But as I say by the title of this review So many questions would love to pick the writers brain just to get a bit more information on what the hell was going on lol.

The best way to describe this film is an incomplete jigsaw, you can see the image but your missing a few important pieces, to get the full image the few missing pieces have to pieced together in your head to get a full picture that makes sense.
