Plot summary

Emotional and surprising

No spoilers:Ba is entertaining! It grabbed me at the beginning and had me wondering what would happen all the way until the end. The actors were pros and I felt the chemistry between them. The story was well thought out and also quite emotional - at one point it made me a bit teary eyed. I loved seeing so much Asian American talent on screen.The movie surprised me in the best way possible. I watched Ba a second time, which was fun, to try to catch things I may have missed in the first viewing.It's a non-traditional sci-fi/horror movie. I don't watch scary movies, but this one wasn't very scary at all, so don't let that deter you. Hopefully more people get a chance to watch this indie.

Unexpectedly wonderful

I didn't expect a horror film to affect me so deeply. This movie is more drama than horror and only a couple of parts seemed scary. The story of a struggling father trying to provide for his daughter made you want to root for the pair, even though Daniel had unwittingly taken on the role of the grim reaper. Lawrence Kao and Kai Cech are excellent and seem to have such chemistry. It's hard to believe that they are not actually father and daughter. Their moments together on screen made me smile and at times, cry. Benjamin Wong is an excellent director and I hope to see more from him in the future.
