Plot summary

How can I say it???

The plot fell apart quicker than a wet paper bag, and relied on stupid people doing stupid stuff. Typical dysfunctional family that cannot communicate when something is amiss. And the best thing Kate did was to stand in front of that freight train, because the rest of this movie had her dumber than a brick and twice as stupid.Oh and the doggie thing was weak as well, because any of the owners could have restrained the dog, and when it happened a second time while the mother and daughter both stood around looking stupid, I knew that I was watching a sinking ship.Also this failed in the psychological terror with the flash backs of this pretentious college professor babbling about a trolley and some out of focus ring. And the ending felt like they ran out of ideas and threw this in as a fixer.I felt more frustration than anything else from watching this movie. An overly generous 2 out of 10.

What a missed opportunity

The movie starts powerfully and then the intrigue starts building. I kept waiting for momentum to build but the director/writer had other things in mind. I thought maybe it is being planned as a slow burner. But it turned out to be too slow and boring. We were all looking at our watches to see what was slower...movie or the watch. The movie dies with a wimper leaving you grossly unsatiated.The weakness is in the story. Could have been really a unique movie. What a missed opportunity.The movie does not live upto the expectation built by the trailer. The interest was knowing about the cult. And that was never delivered except for one sentence. Skip the movie.
