Plot summary

When a childhood friend from Miami gets killed after he comes to warn of encroaching drug gangs, Baaba moves to Miami and teams up with a local officer to bring down the criminals.

A French Take on Beverly Hills Cop

Belleville Cop is the French version of the classic buddy cop genre. Omar Sy brings charm and energy to his role as Baaba, giving the character a lively presence. However, the film overall is let down by a clichéd script and predictable plot.The action scenes aren't particularly impressive, and the humor often falls flat. All the promotions and buddy cop vibes had raised my expectations, but the film didn't deliver. Omar Sy's charisma carries it somewhat, yet there were plenty of moments where I found myself bored.In short: A bit entertaining for buddy cop fans, but you need to keep your expectations low.Rating: 4/10.

buddy cop film..good mix of plot & comedy

Subtitles for the scenes in paris. Le Flic de Belleville, known as Belleville Cop in some countries stars luiz guzman and omar sy. Officer baaba bouchard arrives from paris to work with miami detective garcia on a case. Killers have run off to america, and seem to be hiding within a non profit foundation. Garcia has his own, slow methods that don't seem to be getting anywhere. So when bouchard goes off on his own, he gets into trouble. But clearly he is irritating the bad guys, while slowly getting bits of the puzzle together. In a side plot, bouchard has brought his mother along to the states, and she's always finding adventures. Can the unlikely partners get through this investigation alive? It's good! A really good mix of serious story and light, fluffy ribbing and misunderstandings between the cops. Like a good buddy buddy cop film. Funnier than I expected. Directed by rachid bouchareb... he has won numerous film fest awards for his films.

French Rush Hour

The second this movie started I felt like it was trying too hard to be like Rush Hour. The plot is kinda similar but it's not even coming close to Jackie Chan's Movie. Omar is funny and there are a few good lines in this movie but overall it's just missing something. No big laughter just a few chuckles and the action scenes well I don't know what to say.. they were french.
