Niche Doco

This documentary by acclaimed filmmaker, Michael Apted, is really a love letter to the process of capturing images. The structure of the film is very loose, essentially a collection of interviews / anecdotes from well-known photographers, cinematographers and filmmakers. There is some attempt to cover different genres of photography; sports, portraits, etc. And some reference to the history of the art form (although this again is limited to anecdotes). Quite a lot of time is spent discussing changes in technology, which is already somewhat dated and will become less relevant as time goes on.Ultimately the enjoyment here is spending time with people who are passionate and knowledgeable about their craft. For that along it it is a worth while exercise.
