Plot summary

The story about the choice that has to be made between loved ones and morality when there is no other option for development. The two main characters of the film are forced to make this choice in their respective relationships: Sasha with her own husband and Anya with her son. The drama of the situation is exacerbated when they are involved in crime.

A hard-hitting movie about the psychological trauma of bad upbringing, drug addiction and abortion

"Between Us" is a Ukrainian movie about how a toxic upbringing in childhood can destroy adult lives.It also shows the problem of war, drug addiction and abortion. The genre can be described as a mix of thriller and drama. The plot is fast-paced and you won't get bored while watching the film. Because the events develop quickly and dynamically. And it keeps you in the story until the very end of the film.The cinematography and lighting are in line with the latest trends, and look a bit like the picture of the TV series Euphoria.As a Ukrainian-speaker, I was able to feel all the insight of the acting, the script and the local "Easter eggs". I have no idea how this will be adapted in the English track. But in Ukrainian it's great.I am also impressed that the movie is very good for its budget, which was even less than half a million dollars. I am inspired by the fact that Ukrainian cinema and Ukrainian culture are alive and breathing despite the difficult challenges!It's also worth noting that it's probably not recommended for the sensitive people.
