Unlike 'Sultan', Ali Abbas Zafar & Salman Khan combo didn't work this time on big screens. The movie started with a very strong turning point in year 1947 when Bharat(Salman Khan) got separated from his father during partition & now his sole responsibility is to take care of his family. But after such a strong opening everything just fell apart. No doubt the movie name is 'Bharat - A journey of a man & nation together' but there was no togetherness in this journey, instead there was glimpse of India's progress in 70 years by showing India's World cup win, Nehru Ji's death for 30 seconds & then it focused on Salman Khan skills throughout the movie but the last 15mins of the movie gave some relief to the audience with a small Indo-Pak talk show program which was a nice concept.
If the movie was taken in a manner in which it reflected how Bharat would have lived his life with those struggling Indian years, surviving every aspect of India's journey in those 70 years then it would have been a master piece but sadly it turned out to be something entirely different.

Bharat Review
Bharat is well-intentioned, entertaining...but makers tried too hard to prove that, is its problem.
BHARAT is about the journey of a man and a nation together. But i wud rather say..'its Salman's journey to get katrinna, thts it'
An official adaptation of South Korean drama Ode to my Father (2014).
The story begins in 1947 in Mirpur village near Lahore. Bharat (Salman Khan) is a kid and his father Gautam Kumar (Jackie Shroff) .
Separated from his father and sister during the Indo-Pak partition in 1947 as a child, Bharat decides to dedicate his entire life to keeping the promise he'd made to his missing father.
Bharat soon grows up as a dashing young man (Salman Khan) and he and his childhood friend Vilayati (Sunil Grover) join a circus.
Here he comes across the sizzling Radha (Disha Patani). Both Bharat and Radha get into a relationship.
However when Bharat realises his stunts might be influencing youngsters to do the same without proper training, he quits the circus. ?
He goes to employment exchange where he meets Kumud (Katrina Kaif) and gets smitten by her. Bharat and Vilayati are sent to Middle East to work in the oil fields.
Kumud who is now in love with Bharat stops him from taking high risk mine projects...Bharat however still takes up the work.
But an explosion takes place in the underground mine. It seems near impossible for Bharat and his other colleagues to come out alive..,thts the the story of salman as miner.
The Merchant Navy story track is a time-wasting exercise.
Salman is as always good or bad cant say...,,some will love him like GOD n some will get bored of his regular acting, mannerism, n heroism.,, sunil & disha did good work.
Katrina kaif is good but I think not fit for the role.
Ali Abbas Zafar and Varun V Sharma's screenplay is effective and keeps viewers engaged from start to finish.
On the flipside however, the humour is forced in a few scenes and doesn't make the desired impact.
Vishal-Shekhar's music is good.
Bharat is well-intentioned, entertaining.
The fact that it tries a bit too hard to prove that, is its problem.
A typical Sallu Movie,
If you are a Salman Fan, and loved Sultan, Bajrangi Bhaijan or Dabangg, you will love this movie.
Even if you are not a Salman Fan, you may still get your money worth. But do not expect and endgame here.
There is not much in terms of story, like in many other Salman Movies, things just happen as Salman is there. There is no rhyme or logic in many narratives, so leave your brain at home. However being a typical Salman movie, Logic has no role.
Sunil Grover is brilliant and turns this movie into a laugh riot with his excellent comic timing.
We were laughing during most of the moview and made this movie much bearable.
A few sequences in the second half made some people cry in the audience. to pull off such a feat in an otherwise Laugh riot is laudable.
The movie may seem like a drag if you are not a Salman fan.
My teenager daughter was actually checking her messages on whatsapp during the movie & exclaimed during the Intermission " Oh my God, its just interval, I thought movie was ending soon"
So choose wisely
