Plot summary

Marie-Chantal travels by train to her cousin's place to spend a winter holiday, when a stranger entrusts her with false jewels that contain a virus powerful enough to destroy all humankind.

A Spoof of Spy Movie by Claude Chabrol

While traveling to Switzerland with her cousin Hubert de Ronsac (François Moro-Giafferi) by train, the gorgeous French Marie-Chantal (Marie Laforêt) meets Bruno Kerrien (Roger Hanin) in the restaurant wagon. He gives a blue panther jewel with ruby eyes to her to keep in her guard since he is under watch. When Bruno is murdered in Switzerland, he asks her to give the jewel to a man in Marrocco before dying. She travels with Hubert to Marocco and soon she learns that several secret agents and terrorists chasing her to retrieve the Blue Panther. She befriends a man named Paco Castillo (Francisco Rabal) that protects her and discloses that he works to Prof. Lambaré (Akim Tamiroff), who wants to destroy a powerful virus hidden in the ruby eyes. But his opponent Dr. Kha wants to use the virus to rule the world. But Marie-Chantal does not know who is trustworthy."Marie Chantal contre Dr. Kha", a.k.a. "Blue Panther" (1965), is a spoof of spy movie by Claude Chabrol. The silly plot is flawed and full of holes, and is hard to believe that Chabrol directed this film. There are so many foolish scenes that is difficult to list them. Bruno gives cigarettes to Marie-Chantal in the restaurant to deliver the blue panther to her; then he walks with her alone until her cabin. Marie-Chantal does not shoot Dr, Khan saying that she could not shoot, but she does not deliver the pistol to Paco. When she saves him, he throws the pistol away despite being followed by the bad guys. My vote is five.Title (Brazil): "A Espiã de Olhos de Ouro Contra Dr. K" ("The Spy of Golden Eyes Against Dr. K")

I think it's a spoof

Marie-Chantal is given a blue jewel in the shape of a panther head while traveling on a train. Everybody is coming after it. It's a secret powerful danger to the world.

I say I think this is a spoof of the spy thriller because it's not quite as broad as an 80's spoof. It has broad spy stereotypes. It's not hilarious but it does feel campy. It also alternates with some action thrills. There is a great chase section in the Kasbah. I can do without the excessive exposition dump near the end. It went on and on and on. I do wonder if the exposition dump is another attempt at spoof humor. Again, I think it is but I'm not sure.
