Slow Start, Rushed Ending - Disappointing Overall

I went into Carjackers (2025) excited by the concept - hotel staff leading double lives as car thieves targeting the rich. Sounds awesome, right? Unfortunately, the execution falls flat. The pacing at the beginning is painfully slow, and the film doesn't give you enough time to understand or connect with the characters. Then out of nowhere, everyone starts dying one after another with barely any build-up or explanation. It felt rushed and unearned. The final chase scene was short and lacked any real tension. It almost seemed like the film just wanted to end, rather than give us a strong, satisfying conclusion. The acting was decent, but the story and direction didn't live up to the potential. Honestly, it's hard to recommend this to anyone looking for a smart heist or action film.

Spoiled by a couple silly plot twists

Overall the movie was good, the acting decent and the scenery/photography excellent. But it sucked that it went off the rails with a couple of glaringly obvious forced plot-twists to the storyline:1. The carjackers were presented as pretty smart having completed a number of jobs in the past but simultaneously too unsophisticated to know that millions of gems would be tracked?2. I absolutely hate it when during a life-or-death fight scene, the good guy/girl would get the upper hand against the bad guy who's literally trying to kill him/her, but then NEVER seems to finish him off. They ALWAYS inexplicably turns their back on the bad guy or otherwise gets distracted and allows their mortal enemy to regain the upper hand; it's so stupid!

Suspension of disbelief has its limits

This movie is a train wreck. Two dimensional characters making incredibly stupid decisions with no clear motivations, silly action scenes littered with plot armor shrapnel, and Gastambide's pathetic acting as the dim highlight of this waste of server space of a movie. The scenario could have been written by a teenager, and instead of plot twists you get blindsided by how insultingly stupid it gets. The editing is what you would expect from a mediocre commercial. The framing is so basic that its motto is "Live Laugh Love", the pacing is rushed and awkward, the soundtrack is simultaneously disturbing and unmemorable, and the social criticism is so heavy handed it makes one want to side with the bad guys. But they're too poorly written for that.Avoid at all costs.
