Plot summary

Not my cup of tea...

While this type of movie is not my go-to kind of entertainment, I still opted to watch it and give it a fair chance, as it was a movie that I hadn't already seen, nor actually ever heard about. Sure, I had little expectations to the movie, given the cheerleader theme of the movie.Writer Jessica Landry failed to put together a script and storyline that provided me with much of any entertainment. The narrative was a bit far from what I was expecting, especially since I thought this was a thriller, when in fact it was nothing more than a drama about a teenage pregnancy.I was not familiar with a single actress or actor on the cast list, which is something I do enjoy when I watch a movie. The acting performances in "A Secret to Keep" were fair.Oddly enough "A Secret to Keep" was titled "Cheerleader Abduction" on the version I had the chance to sit down and watch.My rating of the 2020 TV movie "A Secret to Keep", from director Michelle Ouellet, lands on a three out of ten stars.

An actually good "cheerleader" movie!

Most of Lifetime's cheerleader movies are pure garbage. The plot is recycled drivel and the acting is worse than normal. This was a refreshing change! The plot wasn't really that original, but the family dynamic was different. The girl that played the pregnant cheerleader (Jerni) was GREAT! I'm actually bummed to see she isn't set to be in any upcoming movies. I'd like to see her go far in her career.
