Needless to say that I had never actually heard about this 2024 horror movie titled "Day of the Wicked", as I stumbled upon it by random chance here in 2025. I was intrigued by the movie's cover, but must admit that I assumed that the movie's cover probably over-sold the movie by a landslide.And with the movie being written by, directed by and starring something named Cousins Brothers, I have to say that it wasn't looking great. But still, I opted to give the movie the benefit of the doubt, though I must say that movies that are directed by, written by and starring the one and the same person tends to be questionable affairs, and "Day of the Wicked" happened to be directed by, written by and starring exactly that.The storyline in the movie was pretty straightforward, but hardly outstanding. It was a somewhat slow paced narrative, and that made it a bit of a struggle to keep focused on the movie.I was actually not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. While you're not in for any stellar performances or award-winning performances, I will say that the acting performances were generally fair for the most parts.So is "Day of the Wicked" a movie I would recommend you to sit down and spend 97 minutes on? Nope. Nor is it a movie that I will ever return to watch a second time.My rating of the 2024 horror movie "Day of the Wicked" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.
