Right, as soon as I saw that ethereal horse galloping across the screen and the words Maverick Entertainment appeared on the screen, I have to admit that my expectations to the movie dropped down a notch or two. Maverick Entertainment haven't exactly been known for their stellar entertainment. But since "Dirty Thirty" was a movie that I had never seen before, nor actually heard about, of course I opted to give the movie the benefit of the doubt.Writer Denise Mone't put together a pretty straightforward script and storyline, though I have to say that it wasn't exactly an outstanding viewing experience sitting through 96 minutes of this movie. Watchable, sure, but it was formulaic and generic.I was not familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, which was actually something that spoke in favor of the movie. The acting performances in the movie were fair.The music in the movie was pretty annoying. But then again, I never had an ounce of liking for hip hop and rap music.Thankfully "Dirty Thirty" wasn't among the worst of movies from Maverick Entertainment. But it was still far from being a great movie.My rating of writer and director Denise Mone't's 2024 movie "Dirty Thirty" lands on a four out of ten stars.
