Plot summary

When a budding romance falls apart, and a scholarship to USC gets yanked out from under him, 17-year-old Salvi hits the mean streets of Palm Springs and gets swept up into an incendiary weekend of partying, gun violence and sexual ambiguity.

Its good nothing more nothing less

The film thrives on the magnetic presence of its cast, with Joshua De Jesus delivering a fascinating performance as Salvi that makes him not just watchable but deeply engrossing-"interesting, even borderline fascinating." Alongside him, Robert Kazinsky and Cody Longo shine as Henry and Lucky, bringing eccentric, unpredictable behavior that injects both dark humor and tension into the story. What makes the film stand out even more is its boldly unsettling tone; it doesn't play it safe, diving headfirst into drug-fueled escapades, gun-fueled tension, and sexual ambiguity with reckless abandon. While some may find its messaging ethically questionable, as critic Derek Winnert notes, it remains "strangely likable and entertaining," striking a satirical edge that keeps viewers hooked even through its chaos.

Good effort, awful results

The heart that went into this production is laudable. You can see the struggle that went into every shot, every scene...everyone giving it their all, but in the end, the weak, sometimes absurd storyline and the stilted dialog falls so flat, that it is embarrassing to watch because you are embarrassed FOR the cast, the director, all who are WAY out of their league. It is sad when it is obvious that everyone is working with sincere and good intentions and it spite of that, the final result simply is a real failure on all counts. It is really a waste of whatever the running time of this dog of a movie is. It was a painful watch.
