Intriguing and suspenseful thriller from Brian De Palma with action, pursuits and plot twists.

In 2020 Copenhagen, Christian, a Danish police officer (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau , works hand in hand with his partner and friend Lars (Soren Malling). One night, while the police couple is trying to arrest a suspicious man, Lars is injured when a routine call goes wrong, and his partner goes after the suspect, a Libyan (Eriq Ebouaney) who had himself seeking revenge for his father's death at the hands of ISIS. Christian commits an act of rudeness that will change his life forever. The Libyan is also pursued by a CIA chief (Guy Pierce) and is attempting to capture an infamous terrorist leader Al-Din, who is about to attack a Spanish bullring in Almeria with liquid explosive. Revenge doesn't stop !. The best weapon against an enemy is another enemy !. Murder Can Lead To Deadlier Crimes !. Beyond The Crime, Beyond The Cover-up, Lies A Deadly Truth !. Behind the crime lies a deadly truth !.Brian De Palma directs this political thriller starring the Game of Thrones actors: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Carice Van Houten. Guy Pearce, Soren Malling, Eriq Eobouenay, and Mohammed Azaay complete the main and support cast of the film. Revenge, terrorism and somewhat cynical intelligence services dominate this story about two agents seeking justice. A typical story about a Copenhagen police officer who seeks justice and vengeance for his partner's murder by a mysterious man. The film, with a script by Petter Skavian (Kon Tiki) and cinematography by the Spanish José Luís Alcaine, explores the geopolitical scenario of 20120, the ins and outs of the CIA and the use of technology in Islamic terrorism. It contains colorful and glamorous cinematography by the great cameraman José Luís Alcaine, although it underuses the Danish and Spanish exteriors. As well as perceptible and thrilling musical score by composer is by Italian composer Pino Donaggio, in his 7th collaboration with Brian De Palma, having first scored the director's Carrie (1976) and going on other Hitchcockian soundtracks, such as: Dressed to kill, Blow up, Body Double. Displaying a professional and graphically mysterious direction from cinéphile Brian De Palma who had a lot of problems in financing . The flick was mediocrely directed Brian De Palma in his usual style, but it turns out to be inferior to the other similar suspense films that he has directed. There is much for De Palma buffs to savour in this thrilling and atmospheric handling of a complex story with deliberately old-fashioned treatment. The cinéphile Brian De Palma is a genre unto himself these days, including his own trademarks and a plot twist which, as the writer/filmmaker admits, will alienate half the audience. De Palma usually pays tribute to Hitchcock in films like ¨Femme Fatale¨, ¨Blow out¨, ¨Sisters¨, ¨Obsession¨, ¨Body Double¨, ¨Dressed to Kill¨, resulting outwardly odes to the Master of Suspense with the accent on the killings. Rating : 5.5/10. Average but passable at times, it gets some riveting basic ideas and fascinating images .

Amateurish

The cinematography was poor and more like a 90's BBC cop show than a movie. The fight scenes were lacking in choreography and the action was predictable. There were gaping holes in chronology and time dilation. The responses to both terror attacks were nonexistent. It was nice to see Jamie Lannister with a hand again but the hand unfortunately wasn't the imp.,
