I usually like Gary Gulman's old stuff but this special didn't really work for me. There were maybe 2-3 good jokes in the entire show while a great majority of the jokes felt flat. Even audience was quiet most of the show. It looks like he already used most of his good jokes in past shows so there wasn't much left for this special.
This special could was more boring than funny. I felt bored 80% of the time and was tempted to close the video several times but I kept forcing myself to finish it because I had liked his past shows but this is nothing like his past work.
There are too many jokes that simply didn't work.

Not very funny this time
No other answer but 10 stars
Now that I've watched this comedy special, this one out of all the others, I almost have to say that Gary Gulman could be the greatest comedian of our time. Yes, Chappelle, Mulaney, Burr, Gervais - etc. Are also all brilliant.. But THIS MAN is what someone might call an 'absolute Mensch' (forgive me I'm not certain how to spell it- but you could also say 'Gem of a person').
Unlike the others I mentioned or that you can think of, you can clearly see this human has empathy & lots of it. His delivery is impeccable, & the jokes are mind blowing to me....
It truly is one of the greatest sets I've ever witnessed. EASY.
A Masterful Comedian
I got to see both tapings of this special and I was worried that there were a lot of asides and little stories that wouldn't make it into the special (the stainless steel straws being one of them) but I was happy to see that we, the home viewer didn't lose out. Even the reference to the 'jazzy' opening style that a lot of comedians are doing was kept and was a great way to start the special. Highlight might have been his take on the dental industry that was absolutely hilarious and, without giving anything away, I can only assume it will be a favorite of dental assistants everywhere. Please don't miss out by not seeing this special. He has more than proven himself as a top tier comedian, despite not having the counterspace in his kitchen that SOME comedians don't even have to worry about.
