Ghost Nursing is a somewhat lackluster (but still watchable) supernatural/, ghost movie out of HK. Starring Norman Chu, Billy Chan and a bunch of others you will recognize from 70's and early 80's kung fu movies. It's set in Thailand and involves a woman, who dabbles in black magic to change her luck. She adopts a baby ghost and her luck does change until it gets out of hand.. If you have seen a few of these movies before, all the cliches in the genre will seem very familiar. Ghosts, puked up bugs, black magic, Thailand sex workers, etc. Of course, you can do much better for the genre, but this will pass the time. Just don't expect much more out of it.
Plot summary
Jackie is a young woman determined to reverse her bad luck. She consults the God of Gold, who advises her to "nurse a ghost". She is given a small figure to worship, and the worship includes dripping three drops of her own blood every three days. At first, all goes well and she falls in love. But this new happiness causes Jackie to forget to worship the figure, and the spirit doesn't like it. With good intentions, her new boyfriend, Raymond, discovers Jackie's strange predicament and attempts an exorcism which goes horribly wrong. The spirit takes over Raymond, who starts doing nasty things.

So so HK supernatural movie
Not great, but interesting & Scary
Grim, bleak sometimes sleazy horror movie from HK. This script is interesting and the music is eerie. There's a slow pace and the emphasis is more on mood and strange Chinese cultures than special effects or action. So I was bored more than once. GHOST NURSING didn't particularly impress me, but die-hard horror fans might like it, so I can recommend it to them. If there's a cleaner print, and preferably a dubbed one, I would like this creepy tale more.
The story is about this innocent girl called Jackie, who committed atrocities in a previous life, and so her current life is full of tragedy (payback!). She consults a wizard to cure her. The cure involves a petrified fetus from long ago, and by taking care of it (via daily rituals) for about a year I guess, the problems in her life will end. Then one day, some nosy friends uncover this little 'guardian devil' and tamper with it. One of the friends is killed by this evil statue, and the other (Norman Chu) gets possessed by it. Norman Chu kills Jackie's friend and turns on Jackie herself. So she requests the assistance of that same wizard. There's some sort of magical chase in a forest, but then the wizard subdues the zombie guy, and like many older Chinese flicks, there's an abrupt ending.
