Plot summary

A young woman inherits her estranged father's estate after his mysterious death. Once she and her friends arrive at the mansion, they discover that the home is on an old cemetery, which has the power of opening a portal to another realm, which contains the creatures foretold to the world by writer H.P. Lovecraft.

I wanted to watch the Offering but ended up watching this instead

I had intended to watch The Offering, but due to a mistake by some careless uploader, I ended up watching Monster Portal instead. From the very beginning, it was clear that this movie was not going to be a good experience. The production quality felt cheap, the acting was wooden, and the storyline lacked any real tension or intrigue. It seemed as if the film was trying to create an eerie, supernatural atmosphere, but the weak script and poor execution completely undermined any potential it had. The dialogue was uninspired, and the characters were unconvincing, making it difficult to stay engaged.As the movie progressed, it only got worse. The special effects were laughably bad, failing to add any sense of horror or excitement. The pacing was all over the place, making the film feel both rushed and drawn out at the same time. Instead of delivering suspense or terror, it left me feeling frustrated at having wasted my time. I had hoped for a well-crafted horror experience, but Monster Portal turned out to be a dull, forgettable mess. If not for the mistake in downloading, I would never have bothered watching it, and honestly, I regret that I did.

Redo Please

Good reviews on this one (for a change). Yes, it's a total snoozefest for 45 minutes. The only it has going for it in that time is a super creepy old lady. Then it switches from a grieving daughter returning to her family home yawn into a demonic cult story involving mindbending concepts. It does finally take on some atmospheric flavor at that point, as well as a horror story. And it's pretty good from that point forward. It's just brief, & hard to forgive the first 45 minutes. Script still wasn't great, but I liked the effects. I wish the whole movie had been that last 25 minutes & they had done more with that instead of rushing it.
