A solid and moving biography of Mietek Kosz, an exceptionally talented blind jazz pianist who was active in the late 1960s and early 1970s

Being a fan of classical music, I hadn't heard about Mietek Kosz before watching "Icarus. The Legend of Mietek Kosz". I was moved by the movie, which held me gripped from the beginning to the end. Part of this was the sheer weight of this powerful and true story. But I think that the film is good too. I like the concept of showing the artist's personality through some select episodes depicting the most influential moments in his life and career, and after watching the film, I now have a clear picture of who Mietek Kosz (Dawid Ogrodnik) was. Some glimpses of Poland of the 1960s and 1970s were also well done. But most of all I was impressed by the performance of Dawid Ogrodnik. I didn't know how the story was going to end, so for me it was like watching someone's life and hoping for a happy conclusion. I liked the scenes in which Mietek has been winning audiences both at home and abroad, performing successfully at prestigious jazz festivals, and recording albums. On the other hand, I felt very sorry for his feeling of loneliness and addiction to alcohol, hoping until the end of the film that these problems would sort themselves out. So I would recommend "Icarus" to anyone who likes biographies, because regardless of the ending, these types of stories give you a lot to think about.

Well done

153/5000 Overall, I really like biographical movies. In this it was very well presented how blind people sharpen their senses. Especially hearing.
