IT SUCKS!
Instant migraine
I had too much coffee but watching it made it a little worse. That being said, it's not the worse film, I mean it's a ripoff attempt of "The Brass Teapot" minus the comedy. Somehow weirdly captivating, with great colors, nice framing, with decent sound, and the plot has potential. However, each scene is dragged, the dialogues are cringe mostly because they are too long, everything is over-pronounced, great for non-English speaking folks but bad for the film, the vibe is too didactic, sure its because it represents 'simple people' but this way of explaining every single thing takes away audience's ability to interpret and think for themselves. I don't like the way the characters are written, it's flat, they seem childish, simple, unchanged, and they sound like the same person. The styling is mediocre, as a film producer myself I know one can do a decent set design and styling with a tight budget, and wouldn't have to be fancy or arty, but there's just no vision here. The life transformation of the main characters should be reflected in the styling, their fashion, home decor but it all looks like it was shot in one day. Homeless folks wearing t-shirts with perfectly cut out holes and all they carry is a sign... c'mon. The score is odd, very ambient, and industrial, with drops of sad piano and violin, it fills nearly every second of the film, and its seriousness badly collides with the awkward dialogues, it doesn't worl well together. Acting, as many others mentioned is cringe, although some folks try, I think the homeless guy is actually ok, the rest not so much, for their defense, there's not much one can do about these dialogues, and considering how everyone speaks in the same manner - I can see its director /producer who enforced this. Unless they are all from one impro class, which I guess is good for them. The bottom line - the lack of comedy, irony, and lightness makes it rather pretentious.
