Of course I had never even heard about this 2024 Turkish horror movie titled "Kabir Azabi: Insi ve Cinni", from writer and director Gökhan Ari, prior to stumbling upon the movie by random chance here in 2025. But given my love of all things horror, of course I had to check out the movie, especially since my exposure to the Turkish cinema is extremely limited.Writer Gökhan Ari put together a script that proved a bit too linear and predictable for my liking. So there wasn't really much of anything surprising or scary happening. And I started zoning out about midway through the movie.Given my very limited exposure to the Turkish cinema, then I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. And while the script failed to capture my interest, I will say that the acting performances were fair.Visually, then the movie was okay. Nothing impressive or mentionable, but at least it wasn't among the worst of effects I've seen in horror movies.I was not impressed with what writer and director Gökhan Ari delivered here. And it certainly is not a movie that I will return to watch a second time. Would I recommend this movie to horror fans? No. No, I wouldn't. It just simply was too sluggish and uneventful. There were a few attempts at jump scares, and that was essentially it.My rating of writer and director Gökhan Ari's 2024 movie lands on a generous three out of ten stars.
