Utter Rubbish, Waste of Time

This documentary, if you can call it that, sets a new low, going as far as maligning Diana for being the first one to "stray" in her marriage to Charles, with zero proof. This is purely PR to prop up the new king's image. It even went as far as showing Harry's book Spare, the fastest selling non-fiction book to date, on a half-price table. In this fairy tale version Charles is portrayed as a loyal husband and doting father, rather than the emotionally stunted man he's demonstrated he is time and again. As for Penny Junor, a total shill who will say anything to keep her royal access.

Of course, toward the end it also couldn't help pointing the finger at Meghan Markle for all the changes seen in Harry, without laying any blame on the dysfunctional Windsors Whatever Diana's faults and weaknesses might have been, I shudder to think what type of men Harry and William would be without the human touch she provided in abundance. She brought a human pulse to the antiquated and elitist monarchy which should have ended with QEII's reign.

Lost in Monotony

"The Boy Who Walked Alone" takes a somber look into the life of Charles, the King of the United Kingdom, but unfortunately falls short of captivating its audience. While the film attempts to shed light on the complexities of his royal duties and personal struggles, it fails to engage viewers and lacks the necessary depth to make a lasting impression.

The movie follows Charles as he ascends the throne, burdened with the weight of tradition and public expectation. The director's intention to humanize the royal figure is evident, but the execution feels lackluster and fails to leave a significant impact.

One of the film's major shortcomings is its slow pacing. While a measured pace can create a sense of gravitas, "The Boy Who Walked Alone" often crosses the line into monotony. Lengthy scenes that delve into the mundane aspects of Charles' daily life, such as meetings and formal ceremonies, tend to drag on without offering substantial character development or narrative progression.

A bit tone deaf

I feel like this tries to paints the monarch in a positive light, at the expense of Princess Diana and Prince Harry.

Also not sure the timing is right in a time of great distress for Brits. The story seems embellished at parts. I would have gladly watched something more objective, especially considering Diana's tragic demise. It also focuses a lot on his ex gfs pre-Diana which isn't very compelling or interesting.

I think nothing really makes you want to like the character that much, they are shown as a poor parent, a poor husband and hyper focused on his job, all while cheating.

I just hope it won't become a trend for more of these documentaries to come out.
