Plot summary

A remote and lonely hotel holds a dark secret. La Patasola, a vengeful being marked by the loss of her son and her leg, seeks to punish the unfaithful. Rodrigo, an investigator, and Susana, his young lover, arrive at the hotel under the pretext of investigating an unsolved disappearance, but they will soon discover that they are locked in a deadly trap. La Patasola, thirsty for revenge, will unleash all her fury against the infidels and make them pay the price for their deceit, transforming their visit into a nightmare with no escape.

Nah, not really worth the effort...

Stumbling upon the 2024 horror movie "La Patasola" (aka "The One-Legged") here in 2025, and never having heard about it, of course I still opted to watch it, since it was a horror movie and I am a fan of all things horror. I virtually had no idea what I was in for here, so I harbored zero expectations to the movie.The writers put together a script that proved to not fully capture my interest. The narrative was too sluggishly paced, and the movie felt more like a drug-induced lucid dream than it did a horror movie.Given my very limited exposure to the Columbian cinema, with this being my first ever Columbian movie seen, then of course I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. The acting performances in the movie were fair.Visually, the movie was okay. It wasn't a movie that made use of a whole lot of grandiose special effects, so don't get your hopes up.Would I recommend "La Patasola" to horror fans? No, not really, because the movie is boring and rather uneventful. And it definitely isn't a movie that will grace my screen a second time.My rating of directors Harold Trompetero and Paul Cataño's 2024 horror movie "La Patasola" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.

This film lacks a leg

The plot is weak, the actors are unconvincing and it is noticeable that it is low-budget.At no point do you connect with this movie, I had to take pauses to get to the end and boy is the ending bad.The couple does not get along, their relationship is strained and everything in the house is in chaos. The story is boring to death, if you endure half an hour you are really used to see bad productions.Even the entire cast seems lost in the middle of the narrative chaos, although not in all cases it is the fault of a script overloaded with subplots that are dead ends. Rescuing the correct use of technical resources is not enough, as usual, to knot those loose ends or to avoid saying that this film is undoubtedly one of the worst of the year and decades.
