Plot summary

The small town of "Banner Elk" has fallen victim to a serial killer dubbed, "The Banner Elk Butcher," who makes art out of his victims in a brutal fashion. A group of friends are about to discover just how brutal his art can be.

Lame

A film that is 69 minutes long should not feel like it drags on for an eternity, but that is exactly what Late Checkout feels like. There have been literally dozens - maybe even a hundred - of movies with a similar plot: lots of young people go to a cabin in the woods and get murdered. Very few come close to the level of ineptitude of this movie. The acting is so bad across the board that it is painful, the writing is bush league, it feels like a student film from a community college film class that got a D. A few decent practical effects keep this nonsensical mess from being a total loss but that sure isn't enough to make it recommendable.

Good palette cleanser

I really liked this one! The dynamics between the characters was a lot of fun and there were some performances I actually really liked. A lot of people are dogging on the acting but like maybe with a few exceptions I thought this was quite solid.Strong recommend for any fans of the slasher genre, the killers design is a little simple sure but there are some entertaining kills here and I looooove some shoestring budget gore when you can see the crew is really locking in.After watching an uninspired AI driven Blumhouse 'horror' this was a good palette cleanser, I'll check out whatever comes next from these guys absolutely! The horror genre was built on low budget movies of people dicking around in the woods and they'll always have a place so long as the people making them continue to care about the medium.

Puts the "Horrible" in Horror

Hands down, one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Starts off with a couple having sex. The woman is a pushing-50 year old full body tattooed chick with a pretty decent plastic figure. She should have starred in the film because after the credits the cast is replaced with a bunch of horrible, unattractive, untalented actors.

But that's not the half of it. The story is just plain stoopid. The killer is this guy in a welder's mask which is never explained. Nor is it explained why he would wear such a heavy piece of metal. Sees like that would slow him down.

But then logic is not part of this movie. The set up is basically the kids getting killed one by one with the use of different instruments.

It's the most boring movie you will ever see.
