Plot summary

17-year-old Ashley Reeves is left for dead in the woods following a brutal attack. After spending 30 horrific hours in the cold, gravely wounded, lying in the dirt, and paralyzed, the police find her alive.

Good lifetime Drama

Even if this weren't a Lifetime movie, I would have given it a seven. The story is sad and compelling and unfolds as we go back in time through the eyes of the victim. Lifetime movie do not have the highest production values or acting but If you are moved by the actual storyline and reasonable production values, you may enjoy this as much as I did. My default rating for a movie I liked enough to watch again, but didn't rise to the upper echelons 8- Very good. Would watch again and recommend to others 9- Outstanding. Would watch over and over; top 10% of my ratings 10 - A classic. (Less than 2% receive this rating). For Lifetime Movies for Chicks (LMFC), drop the above scale by 3 notches. A 6 is excellent and 7 almost unattainable.

Worked at paying attention

Left for Dead: The Ashley Reeves Story tells the harrowing tale of a young woman's fight for survival after a brutal attack leaves her paralyzed and abandoned in the woods for 30 hours. While the true story is undeniably compelling, the execution leans heavily on Lifetime Movie Network tropes, with predictable pacing, clichéd dialogue, and overly dramatic moments. The film struggles to elevate itself beyond the "based on true events" genre, feeling more like a grim Hallmark movie than a gripping drama. Despite its flaws, the film serves as a testament to resilience, though its lack of nuance and polish leaves much to be desired. Overall, a decent snowed in movie.
