No point in reiterating the praise already heaped on yet another brilliant Sorrentino entertainment except to emphasize what a mind-blowing tour de force Toni Servillo gives. He deserves an Oscar for Best Leading Actor (which he won't get). I'm saddened by the way reviewers have ignored the performances of the sheep. Silence of the Lambs, I guess. (I couldn't resist...sorry)

A Brief Addendum
Him and them
So I learned a new word - not sure how long I will remember that. Loro aka them apparently. I'm just going to believe this other user who enlightened us all (those not in the know). Enlightened is something that it looks like Silvio wasn't. Silvio who? If you don't know Berlusconi ... I guess good for you. One might compare him or liken him as an Italian Donald Trump. Not sure if its an insult and to whom though.
So he seems quite gullible here. Not sure that is actually really true, but the main performance is quite mesmerizing. So not accounting on factual history (I have not read up on him), the movie works quite well, no matter how much is fiction or not. Since he didn't have issues with nudity, you shouldn't either. Not talking about all moral ambiguity or leaving any decency at the door or the frame of the screen you're watching this on ... but you have to give in a little. A lot of machismo, a lot of man in power gets what he wants .. well to a degree right? Because if you trust certain individuals to help you out ... you will end up lost (as a likely outcom) ...
This complex, underrated film needs seeing multiple times
Tony Servillo is outstanding in every film, but especially those by Sorrentino. In IL Divo he played Italian PM Andreotti as a hunched, Machiavellian vampire scuttling in the shadows. In Loro he plays Berlusconi as a shallow and brash, but tragic, aging lothario. Sorrentino's films and TV shows (The Great Beauty, The Young Pope, The New Pope etc ) are so rich, so complex and beautiful that they all need to be seen at least twice. They really grow in you with repeated viewing And all have absolutely cracking soundtracks. Sorrentino is Italy's greatest living director and unlike so many great directors he will take on politics in all its filthy reality
