I had never heard about this movie, so I literally had no idea what I was in for, as I stumbled upon this 2023 movie by random chance here in 2025. It appeared that it was a horror movie, and given my love and fascination with all things horror, of course I needed no persuasion to watch the movie and give it a fair chance.Now, "Microdosing" was directed by, written by and starring Patrick Adam Peña. Yeah, that sort of spoke against my overall impression of the movie before even watching it, as movies with one guy behind all those posts usually tend to be questionable and dubious movies.The storyline was sort of a swing and a miss in terms of entertaining me. Watching two guys sitting around, talking about drugs and drinking beer, hardly constitutes entertainment in my book.Needless to say that I was, of course, not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. And it was a rather small cast ensemble. The acting performances were adequate. You're not in for a grand cinematic experience here.This is a low budget movie, make no mistake about it. But at least it was made with what seems to be a genuine love for cinema and an interest in making a movie. I do prefer the movies I watch to actually be entertaining, and "Microdosing" didn't prove entertaining to me.My rating of writer and director Patrick Adam Peña's 2023 movie "Microdosing" lands on a three out of ten stars.
