Plot summary

The Tape Was Real. The Monster Was Worse Genre: Horror, Sci-Fi, Mystery, Action. After a blogger’s monster video goes viral, he mysteriously disappears in the wilderness. Two girls set out to debunk the monster as not real, and that the disappearance was staged. They find more than a mystery and tapes. They find armed soldiers covering up a monstrous experiment gone wrong.

Not the worst

The acting isn't very good from the 2 leads. There are maybe 3 moments they don't seem like that are trying too hard to act and actually sound like humans. The monsters acting wasn't bad though. All the AI made it hard to watch though. Never moving their lips anywhere close to the words being spoke. Lots of consistency errors.

Now hear me out-

I might be on the crackpipe, but there's a smell that smells smelly here. And while the terrible acting/plot gives off a strong smell, it is undeniably overpowered by yer good ole AI pile of manure.Be it the raving reviews or the janky "shots" of the monster, I'm pretty darn sure it's all AI-generated. There might be other scenes that corroborate my feeling, but I couldn't go past the 15mn mark, I desperately needed to do anything else.

This is How You Do Monster Horror!

Tense, clever, and surprisingly emotional. The setup is brilliant - a cryptic hunter's tapes leading two ordinary girls into an extraordinary nightmare. The action is brutal and realistic, but the film never loses sight of its characters' trauma and resolve. The monster is an instant classic. Hats off to the Wrights for creating something truly special.
