Having just finished watching the mini-series, Chernobyl, on HBO, this was a nice surprise to come across on Netflix. This was a great documentary to round up my Chernobyl binge. This is one of those events I could learn about all day long. It's amazing just how dangerous (and powerful) this reactor is and what feet's must be undertaken to ensure the safety of everyone and everything in its path.

Fascinating!
I can't believe I'm the only one who's reviewed this!
I was on Netflix, bored, and after seeing the excellent HBO miniseries Chernobyl I noticed this and figured why not. I was absolutely shocked by how amazing this doc was just watching all the worlds greatest minds in engineering come together to build this incredibly huge and complex structure to slide over a collapsed reactor... It just defies belief that humans can do this.
This is worth the hour for a watch, if this sort of thing is even remotely interesting to you give this a shot I can't see how you won't be as fascinated as I was while watching it. Even if you found it half as interesting as I did you'll still really enjoy it.
Interesting documentary special
Short documentary detailing the building of the dome to cover Chernobyl nuclear reactor to protect from the collapse of the interior dome hastily built when the reactor first collapsed. The special goes into a little history of the reactor collapse, then the subsequent building of an exterior dome, and now the latest building of a dome designed to last the next 100 years. The special doesn't go into great detail on either topic, but gives more general overviews of each.
