NTR Kathanayakudu

"NTR: Kathanayakudu" (2019) sets out to honor the legendary N. T. Rama Rao, a towering figure in Telugu cinema and politics. While the film succeeds in capturing the nostalgia and grandeur of NTR's iconic roles, it ultimately falls short of being a truly compelling biopic due to its uneven storytelling and hagiographic approach. The film's highlights are undoubtedly the recreations of NTR's iconic scenes and dialogues, which will evoke a sense of nostalgia for his fans. Nandamuri Balakrishna, NTR's son, steps into his father's shoes with admirable conviction, capturing his charisma and screen presence. Shriya Saran, though appearing in a brief role, shines brightly in her dance sequence, adding a touch of grace and glamour to the film. However, the film's narrative feels disjointed and lacks a cohesive flow. The excessive focus on recreating iconic scenes overshadows the exploration of NTR's personal life and the complexities of his character. The film often veers into hagiography, portraying NTR as a flawless hero without delving into his flaws or the controversies surrounding his life. The supporting cast delivers decent performances, but their characters are often underdeveloped, serving more as plot devices than fully realized individuals. The film's music, while attempting to evoke the grandeur of NTR's era, fails to leave a lasting impression.Overall, "NTR: Kathanayakudu" is a watchable film for fans of NTR, offering a nostalgic trip down memory lane. However, its uneven storytelling, hagiographic approach, and lack of depth prevent it from being a truly compelling or insightful biopic.

A fantastic Tutorial on how not to make a biopic

First things first the actor had terribly failed playing the character of NTR(the legend). The other actor played ANR is far better than him. Everything shown in the film seemed to be over dramatized and had done nothing just elevated the protagonist from the very beginning to the last that's why I'll not call it as a biopic thats a melodrama. Director did a pretty good job infact in making a good melodrama but a bit more homework would have made things better. All the technical aspects in this movie are pretty fine.
