rom-com Lance
It's 1994. Kevin Gibbons (Lance Bass) is the lead singer of his band. He freezes and loses his chance at a girl. He's a pushover. It's 7 years later. He works at an ad agency in Chicago. Rod (Joey Fatone) is his best friend. His boss Gerald Higgins (David Foley) partners him up with Jackie (Tamala Jones) who does not like him. He meets his dream girl Abbey (Emmanuelle Chriqui) on the L train but he doesn't even get her name. He starts posting around town to find her. Newspaper reporter Brady Frances is given an assignment to write about him. Unbeknownst to anyone, Brady holds a grudge against Kevin and is actually dating Abbey.
This came out well before Lance came out. It certainly would have changed things. Quite frankly, Lance is not the best actor in the band. He has the look of a lost puppy. This should be Justin Timberlake's role. The friends are the worst. The best way to fix it is to have Joey Fatone as his one and only friend. Joey actually has some charisma and seems like a good guy. The misunderstanding is stupid and only makes the friends look more creepy. The structure is there for a standard rom-com but it's done badly and Lance is not good. He apparently never reads the newspaper even though he's in it. He definitely needs to drop those friends. This is a failure on several levels.
