Right questions asked tl the wrong people.

This documentary not only makes the sorrow and grief sink into your heart, but you truly feel the fear and creeping tensity, especially through the opening graphic. Seeing every dot on the screen as they slowly turn from green to yellow or even blue to represent those who are killed or injured really makes your heart pound.

That being said, a lot of what the interviewer asks is downright insensitive.

There's a moment where he asks about a child that was locked outside of a classroom at the time. He asks the PARENTS of the child "What was she doing out there?" Why the hell would they know?

He also asks a father of a deceased child about the safety of schools. The shooter at one point had attempted to shoor fleeing children outside from the teacher's lounge, but failed as they were hurricane proof.

He asks that father "Why aren't all the windows hurricane proof?" Again, why on earth would the father know? Forcing him to think about those questions is cruel and stupid.

The question of school safety and how we can improve going forward are great things for schools, police, government, and plenty others to discuss. Entirely inappropriate to ask grieving parents these things with so little tact or care.

"Being There"

A documentary is, unlike a movie, where you get to meet the actual people who were involved in an incident and in the two hours that I watched, I felt that I was hearing from people whose lives were deeply changed as was mine, from just listening to them. I stand in awe of their bravery.

Enjoyed but...

Documentary is well done and I enjoyed as much as you can a documentary on such a horrific tragedy. However.... The interviewer conversing with the parents was too straightforward. He comes across as harsh and truly lacking in compassion.. kind of ruins the whole thing as I became distracted by my anger for this guy who I believe is the director, Charlie Minn.

Graphics at the beginning are very well done and as the dots change from green to yellow or blue, your heart really breaks because these are such senseless lives lost.

I wish they would have delved a little more into the shooters possible motivations and outcome.
