Plot summary

Grieving their child's early death

A worthwhile exploration of what happened to a couple following the death of their child ten years prior. It feaures a very realistic and frank discussion between the two estranged people. They were obviously intimate at one time, and echoes of that linger for this couple that have divorced many years ago. I wish I had as frank a talk with someone generally as this couple achieves! I can only say that the film is realistic in lighting and location, and both the camerawork and lack of musical score faciltate the priority given to this divorced couple's long conversation. A good exploration of grief and living with it.

Powerful acting out of a very simple story

This is a simple story. Two people were split apart by something that happened ten years ago and meet again unexpectedly. The acting is powerful as the two revisit their shared past and the back story gradually emerges. Also the filming is very atmospheric with long silences and realistic background sounds of the setting where it all takes place. The interest is in how the two characters interact after ten years apart and how they have changed, or not, in that time. Don't expect much of a story though, and in the end I personally found the lack of character development or any changed outcome from their meeting somewhat disappointing.
