Plot summary

During the Vietnam War, a recon unit ventures to an isolated jungle valley to uncover the fate of a missing platoon. They soon find themselves in a fight for their lives against an unexpected enemy — prehistoric dinosaurs.

Ok but overly long

Primitive war sets a dinosaur film in the middle of the Vietnam war and if that sounds interesting to you , well here it is. In truth it's an OK film that has it's moments of excitement but it didn't need to be 2 hours and 13 minutes long. The special effects look kind of cheap, the acting is uneven, the script is nothing special and the Russian and Vietnamese accents are dreadful. On the other hand while a completely modern film, it does have a certain 1950's sci-fi/ horror film vibe going on. I wouldn't sit through it again, mainly because it has nothing that distinguishes it in any way, no exceptional scenes or performances, no actor that stands out and Ryan Kwanten can't really carry the film.
