Plot summary

Two strangers find themselves trapped underground when the city is attacked by a monstrous threat. Badly injured with limited resources they must navigate a treacherous, narrowing tunnel in hopes of finding an exit.

Lead actor has no idea!

Can tell the lead isn't a father, that ending was atrocious, no heart or conviction. Just speaking lines. I feel bad for the director he must have been pulling teeth with this one. I saw that Barry Pepper was the original cast member, he would have done it justice. Script had its issues but I saw the writer isn't exactly seasoned so he has some finessing in his writing to do.

I don't get this movie

Scurry (2024) is one of those survival thrillers that promises tension and delivers nothing but boredom. The premise had potential - two people trapped underground with something lurking outside - but the execution is so flat that it's almost impressive how little suspense it manages to build. The pacing drags from start to finish, filled with repetitive dialogue, dull camera work, and predictable jump scares that feel more like afterthoughts than real moments of terror.The characters are paper-thin, and the writing gives them nothing to work with. Their decisions are so illogical that it's hard to root for them or even care whether they survive. The supposed "threat" outside is barely shown, which could have worked to the film's advantage if the atmosphere or writing were strong - but instead, it just feels cheap, as if the filmmakers ran out of budget and ideas halfway through production.Even the sound design, usually a strong point in confined horror films, feels off - repetitive noises and awkward silences replace any real tension. Scurry tries to be claustrophobic and thrilling, but it ends up being slow, confusing, and painfully uneventful. It's not scary, not smart, and definitely not worth your time.

Unbelievably boring...

Stumbling upon the 2024 horror movie "Scurry" here in 2025, and never even having heard about it, of course I opted to watch the movie. I am a big fan of all things horror after all. And this movie's title, cover and synopsis certainly was interesting.But talk about a sluggishly paced narrative from writer Tom Evans. I have to admit that I was expecting a tad more than just following two people trying to get out from being trapped underground, which unfortunately was what the first the vast majority of the movie was about. There was surprisingly little creature feature action throughout the 100 minutes that the ran for.The movie has a very small cast ensemble, and I was not familiar with a single actor or actress here. And that as actually the one thing that spoke in favor of the movie.And when you finally get to see whatever it is that was supposed to be scurrying about, you are given some very questionable CGI animated creature, which just feels like a slap to the face with a cold, dead fish.Should you enjoy horror movies and have a thing for creepy crawlers, do yourself a favor and don't waste 100 minutes on "Scurry". Some of us literally suffered through this travesty of a movie, so you don't have to.My rating of director Luke Sparke's 2024 movie "Scurry" lands on a very generous two out of ten stars.
