A terrifying tale of the life of a single woman, who decides to undergo the "in-vitro fertilization process" in Singapore to have a child of her own. Seven years later, she moves into a new apartment and her child begins to behave oddly, much to the bafflement of the young mother. Her fears begin to mount when she finds her daughter frequently talking to herself in the presence of a shadowy figure, who has been appearing in their new home. When she tries to question her child on her behavior, she is shocked to discover that her daughter has been communicating with the dead.

Beautifully done

Such an odd feeling, it's one of unease so far. The strange and quite odd things start happening right away, promising more delights to come I'm hoping. The haunting scares are beautifully done, not so much jump scares as they seem meant to be felt and not to make you cringe and turn away.I feel that many fans of the genre will likely appreciate the atmosphere they able to achieve in this film.Fans of foreign horror should give this film a watch to see and feel all nuances they've given us to achieve an excellent experience as fans.

I guess a seed of darkness blooms into sheer boredom...

Stumbling upon the 2006 Malaysian horror movie "Seed of Darkness", of course I opted to sit down and watch it, given my fascination with the Asian cinema and horror movies in general. Now, I had never actually heard about "Seed of Darkness" before watching it, so I didn't know what I was in for.

Writer Oliver Jeyrald Lee and director Michael Chuah collectively managed to deliver one of the most boring and painful to sit through movies I have seen in a long, long time. The storyline in "Seed of Darkness" was unfathomably slow paced and uneventful, and some amazingly wooden acting performances didn't exactly enhance the movie experience.

I wasn't familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list in this movie, but I can't claim to be impressed with what I saw on the screen.

I am sure that the concept idea for "Seed of Darkness" was interesting on paper, but the transition to screen really made for a monotonous, slow paced, and boring movie. For a horror movie, this was a swing and a miss, and a massive one at that.

The most scary part about "Seed of Darkness" was perhaps the wooden acting performances.

If you enjoy Asian horror cinema, as I do, then do yourself a favor and skip on this one, because it just simply isn't worth the effort.

My rating of "Seed of Darkness" lands on a two out of ten stars.
