Well...

Having seen both the original play and the original musical (en français et en anglais), ITrying and mostly succeeding to look and feel like the movie musical version of Hairspray, it was missing its pacing and heart. We need to care about these characters, and it felt a little flat and slow.Another thing is that most people won't know what was happening politically in Quebec during that time period, so much of the subtext and themes of the play will be missed.
