How does mom say only have $150 & writes the son a check, yet they go shopping & buy a whole bunch of brand name stuff?

I do remember watching years ago but was worth another look. I do believe back in the day Vivica was a great actress, well, actually, she still is. Just has to find that right script. Is the son Jett Jackson? He was such a great actor, I believe played I Scandal & committed suicide.

Plot summary
Eighteen-year old Ashley's life is headed in the wrong direction. She's been hanging out with a bad crowd and seeking an escape from the drama at home. Everything begins to change when a handyman working on the family's house encourages her to volunteer for a Christmas play with underprivileged children. Ashley finds purpose by helping people in need and uses that to help heal her troubled family. Together, they discover the impact one person can make through the gift of giving.

Just terrible.
Wow. This movie is so bad, I'm shocked it stuck to the film. The story is trite and preachy, and the acting and writing are just awful. Easily the worst movie I've seen in years. Stay far away from this garbage.
