Plot summary

Jenn has washed ashore a small tropical island and it doesn’t take her long to realize she’s completely alone. She must spend her days not only surviving the elements, but must also fend off the malevolent force that comes out each night.

A decent horror only let down by costume design

I really enjoyed this but the creature design was like something out of Power Rangers or Guyver. Cheap rubber suit that wobbles and in one scene it looks like a puppet with a hand in it.That's my only criticism. The setting was great, the acting was fine, the suspense was handled well with a good premise.Don't rush to see it but if you've got time to kill give it a go.

Edge-of-your-seat suspense on a shoestring

Sweetheart is a beautiful example of excellent filmmaking on a shoestring. A minimal cast of talented young actors (especially the female lead) on a beach is simplicity at it's finest and proof positive that scary monsters don't have to cost millions to be effective. The edge-of-your-seat suspense is the best I've experienced in a very, very long time. Well done!
