Another witch

This film tries to emulate the Witch film. Imitation may be considered flattery but it is plain compared to the original inspiration. The cinematography is very reminiscent of that. The storyline is a slow burner. The conclusion just falls short of making it another classic. The cast do a decent job.

all kinds of bloody guts

Catherine Walker is farmer Agatha Earnshaw, originally from Ireland, migrated to America. And she has a daughter, hidden away from her village. At first, they aren't sure what to make of them. The town folk smacked Agatha for no reason, with daughter Audrey watching. Suddenly, there's a horrible famine. Agatha's farm seems to prosper, which makes the villagers angry. They all start going nuts. Then they accuse them of witchcraft. And it goes downhill from there. Gets pretty gross... blood and guts. Did it really need to get so bloody and violent? Not really my thing. Written and directed by Thomas Lee.
