"Paper is amazing stuff" Parker Kincaid

The story is based on a Jeffrey Deaver Novel. This detective mystery has Hallmark written all over it. It even has the same background noise ... oops music. It is machine made for the Proles. With standard dialog and standard predictable twists. You can tell it is TV and may even be a pilot for a series "Paper tells the tales."Well, we have a mass killing at a train station. The person in charge of the killer named "Digger", said Digger will kill again if he does not get a good sum of money. Now where have we heard this one before. Wait for it here comes the twist the makes the movie. The person that controls "the digger" meats with a traffic accident (yeh sure.) Now the only clue is a letter left telling where to make the drop-off. O. K. Do not get ahead of me. Only one person in the world can tell who the Digger is and what he is up to by analyzing the letter. That person is ex FBI and had problems with doing that sort of thing for them. Naturally a blond cutie FBI person pulls on his heart strings and gets him to do his thing. Now we sit back and watch the thriller unfold.

A little too much tunnel vision.

I understand the need to prevent the loss of human life and the need to try and determine where the killer "The Digger" is going to strike next.

I also understand how important the document is.

What I DO NOT understand is this: 1. What happened to the cell phone the guy made the call with? 2. Why was there absolutely NO EFFORT to try and determine WHO the dead guy (presumably the BRAINS behind the operation) was? *****SPOILERS***** That should have taken priority over all. If you could identify the guy, you MIGHT be able to identify his friends, acquaintances, etc. Even though it came out in the movie later that the dead guy was a "patsy," there had to be SOME kind of contact information between him and the REAL brains behind the operation.

Other than that big plot hole, it was a very "family oriented" crime drama. Something you could watch on a rainy Saturday afternoon with the kiddies and talk about how your family compared to his family, etc.

The most fun I had out of the movie was watching how they made Toronto stand in for Washington. Oh, and BTW, the Winter Garden Theatre is not just a few doors down the street from The Royal York Hotel.
