Plot summary

Must watch

Drowned is a slow-burning, atmospheric film that hooks you with its eerie mood and emotional depth. Visually stunning and beautifully acted, it tells a haunting story about grief, memory, and the things we try to bury - both literally and emotionally.If you enjoy psychological dramas with a touch of mystery and haunting visuals, Drowned is absolutely worth your time.

a good surprise

If you have a big screen with high image quality and a powerful and precise sound system, you will be driven as I was! For a restrcted budget movie It never looks cheap and the effects are well treated.One can see a real taste for details,colours, shapes and perspectives and light, which is convenient given that the movie is based on a painting, nice Mise en abime!Now the plot can sometimes appear a bit tricky to get. But I find the enigmatic note of it to be at the service of the film's general mood of mystery.There's a real tension built all along the story, strongly supported by the acting.Nice work on everyone's side!The only betterment I would wish is the pronounciation of some characters sometimes.I wasn't expecting this at all. In fact I wouldn't call this an horror movie, which could be misleading, much more would I describe it as a fantastic film in the way of the 19th century literature such as Wuthering Heights. Can't wait to see the next work of this director.

Slow burner

After an art heist the four robbers plan to meet up in a remote house. They aim to disappear by making their escape by boat the following morning.However things go wrong at the meet up. One does not make the rendezvous. This leads to accusations and mistrust between the other members.I liked this. The acting was strong with the small cast working hard and had chemistry. It kept me guessing.Slow and heavy atmosphere and not gory. What's not to like.
