Plot summary

The Joker meets Art the Clown

It's a relatively fun horror film that clearly takes strong influences from the Terrifier trilogy. The movie takes a lot of pride in its kill scenes, but the plot is rather flimsy, we're basically going from kill to kill with little character development. While it's a fun new movie for Halloween 2025 it won't be fighting to end up on any top 10 lists. Its halfway there for me.

An Unexpected Surprise for Classic Horror Fans

This film genuinely surprised me, despite the modest ratings it received. I actually had a good time watching it. While the story has its share of simplicity, the sequence of events and the way the script develops take you to new places and unexpected twists that keep boredom at bay. Some scenes were impressively well-crafted, even though the film as a whole feels like a B-movie. In any case, if you're a fan of classic horror films, this one's for you.

Much better than the first

The first started off with a potentially interesting monster, but quickly derailed into some kind of domestic drama with occasional horror. The main problem with the first is that every character was unlikeable. I'd rate the first film a 3.In this sequel, they stayed on track and focused on what makes this Jester character unique--the magic tricks. Lots and lots of magic tricks. The magic tricks were creative, violent, and sometimes funny...intentionally and unintentionally.The characters were much more likeable and sympathetic this time. I wasn't rooting for them all to die like I was in the first movie.They even gave the Jester a backstory and motive this time. These two elements didn't break any new ground, but they worked for the story and gave it an ending.It's rare when a sequel is significantly better than the original. I'm honestly surprised they were even given a second chance after the original. But they did and it's worth a watch for horror fans.Not sure the lead actor can carry a third movie on her own, but maybe they'll come up with a different idea.
