This is Sydney of The Love Club's story. She meets the other members of The Love Club in college on New Year's Eve after Byron breaks up with her for the fourth time in their on again off again relationship. Fast forward to today when she has a blog (not sure how she is adulting with that job), but she runs into Byron who is a doctor in her town at a conference and to do a half marathon. To save her pride Sydney claims to be doing the marathon herself. Then she calls the members of The Love club for support and backup. In their infinite wisdom they hire her a personal trainer which is how Sydney ends up meeting the chef Theo. While she is pursuing Byron again, she is also discovering that she and Theo have chemistry in kitchen.
This is one of those Romances that is so obvious from the very beginning, but Sydney is so sweet and naïve you put up with it. I would recommend this Hallmark film to other romantics out there.

It was clear from the start that Byron was a self-absorbed jerk, but I liked the food aspect.
More than the usual stuff but still close
I agree with two other reviews that 1 - Byron is a major jerk; and 2 - this was better than the first.
This movie isn't the usual Hallmark Saturday night, but then I don't think it is a Hallmark production. I don't recognize the studios. And this series premiered in Canada earlier this year.
There are some similarities to the Wedding Veil series in the aspect of female friendships supporting one another in love. This series has the four girls who actually formed the club in college.
The idea of a woman pining after her ex, Byron, is common. However that history produces a twist before the climax. Byron's rival love interest is also handled a little differently than the usual.
Byron is a total jerk. I was absolutely floored when he took a strawberry out of Sydney's funnel cake without asking or being invited. The way he treated both women was bad and bordered on mean. Despite the fact I thought this part of him was overplayed, Jeremy Walmsley did play the part he was given well. (Not as sure how well he portrayed the running at the end of the race.) As irritated as I was with his character, Byron definitely created tension in the story.
Similarly Lily Gao. I thought Sydney was past pathetic and I would have liked to see that aspect toned down a little at least regarding her whining. But I think that was the part Gao was given. She was especially good with Jesse Hutch and she radiated happiness.
Like the Wedding Veil series, I think it is strange how far the friends go to support the current central character. They drop everything and travel to stay with her for apparently a week. During the day, when they aren't stalking one of the other characters, they apparently sit around doing nothing (drinking wine?). In this movie they really got involved in meddling with Sydney's love life.
I think this movie is probably slightly better than my rating which is influenced by personal dislikes more than quality of the story.
Agree with other reviewer!
The first one was soooo bad but I read the other review for this movie and decided to give it a chance. It's a huggggeeeee improvement! It's not that the characters are more established but the storyline is so much better! It actually makes sense! Sydney is caught up with her ex, following him on social media like everyone else does, and goes from an Olympic bound track star to food blogger. The career jump is quite weird but it leads to her actual true love. Sydney, the ex, and male lead are all great! Lots of chemistry and very believable. Now the three strangers, I mean friends, make their appearance again and are basically her housekeepers cleaning her house. They do this in every movie and just rotate houses and side role as the lead person goes to work and leaves them at their house to do their own stuff. Again these friends are really not friends and it gets more obvious as this series continues, but it's nice to see familiar faces and it's an actual decent movie!
