Valérie Donzelli's boyfriend dumps her, so she moves in with her cousin (who's eye is slowly decaying).
Donzelli is deeply depressed and has no job, so her cousin doesn't want her to stay alone in her apartment all day. She hangs out in the park across the street where she meets an art student. They form a close bond.
Donzelli gets a job babysitting, and the husband falls in love with her.
Donzelli meets another guy she becomes sexually obsessed with.
All of these men are played by Jérémie Elkaïm.
Donzelli's directorial debut is ... amiably strange. It's the kind of comedy you never actually laugh at, but you are quietly amused by much of it.

Movie Reviews
Yeah ... alright ...
not for everyone but not bad
in my opinion, the first 5 or so minutes of this film were some of the worst parts of a movie I had ever seen, in any film. I only understood what they meant at the end of the movie, this while they were still bad. but after theses scenes it gets much better (as you can see since I rates this 8).
contrarily to what it is says, I do not find this is a comedy. I did not laugh often and if I did this would of been more "light chuckling". I would class this movie more of an absurd type reflection. being a fan of the absurd, I enjoyed most of the dialogues, alto of ideas which were represented within the film, etc. I also enjoyed the way it was shot and the atmosphere the director gave to it. This being said it is still really weird at some parts even for me, so if you are not into weird- absurd films this would probably not be for you. I also want to mention that this film has a terrific sound track.
Queen of Hearts
I'm not sure about the meaning of the French phrase "La reine des pommes". If translated directly, it'll be named as "The Queen of Apples". But the movie has nothing to do with apples. The American name of the movie is "The Queen of Hearts". I think it indicates us that it's all about finding true love. It seems like the "former appearance" of Pierre is some kind of "fake love". It's just a naive girl's imagination of love relationship. She believed love should last forever at first. So, after love faded, she abandoned herself in the imagination. The imagination covers up the difference of those 4 men. They look the same in her view. Gradually, her desire for love turned blind. She couldn't tell true heart from dirty flirt. Eventually, after the dramatic accident happened, she fell into a faint, and that put all these upside-down things to an end. Her fake love imagination was proved to be an illusion. She could finally see the true appearance of Pierre, who is the only one treated her with true heart. I think the director pick some typical scenes to portray the growth of an inexperienced young girl. Ingenious.
