What a moving story, beautifully told and played by the central characters. Richard Dee Roberts. (writer and director), has a great onscreen presence as the Reverend and the rapport between him and the central female protagonist. ( Anna Simpson, as played by Anna Scherliess), is clear to see.
At times difficult to watch as her discomfort at being singled out in public, vocally abused by strangers and physically abused by her husband, was palpable.
A very endearing performance from Judith Paris as Mrs Evans the housekeeper. She moved me to tears a couple of times as did the film as a whole.
An unexpected ending too which is always satisfying.
With super locations which really enhanced the overall feel of the piece, we would definitely recommend this film on many levels. Congratulations to all involved.

Hope amidst despair
A hidden Gem
I came across this independent film by chance, as I'm a bit of an historical buff I enjoyed the authentic setting and the way it didn't shy away from the uncomfortable subject of prejudice from the British prospective. The standard of acting was excellent, a real sense of realism from the main characters, thrown together by chance. It was great to see the legend that is Julian Glover, though on screen for a relatively short time, he nails every scene he's in, making you wanting more.
The summer fair was well set, with the old fashioned fairground games and rides, and the costumes it reminded me of days when I was young.
We've all seen films with mega budgets, but this one gives them a run for their money.
A true hidden gem.
Interesting all the way through
I really enjoyed this film, it kept my attention all the way through which is rare. It certainly took us on a journey and gave me insight that racism isn't just the color of your skin and that small town opinions are quite scary and damaging to the recipient and their nearest and dearest with quick judgements marring idylic country town life Both leading characters were perfect casting and very believable and performed with passion and showed how vunerable anyone can be to bias behaviour in it's many guises, I thought the young boy was excellent and is obviously a up and coming young actòr with star quality and what a delight to see Julian Glover appear in it a perfect casting. All in all a film I will definately watch again.
